Sun, Jun 14Cherryville, NCJoin our June, 2026 event hosted by Jericho Tactical and Foothills Range Complex. This two-person 2-gun competition will bring an array of challenges to overcome.
WHAT IS THE R.E.A.D.Y TOURNAMENT?
The R.E.A.D.Y Tournament is a tactical athlete competition built around something most matches skip, decision making under stress. Fitness plus marksmanship is a very important aspect of tactical athletes and operators. Being able to move fast, lift heavy, and shoot accurately is indeed challenging, however, the lack of reason behind the work and not including target identification, priorities, simple problem solving, equipment tasks, or scenario pressure makes traditional matches less "tactical".
R.E.A.D.Y is different. This is a competition where you will have to process information, make choices, and execute under stress. You run and shoot. You get smoked. But every stage has a purpose and different problems to solve.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
R.E.A.D.Y blends physical output, marksmanship, and tactical problem solving into one test.
You are not just racing the clock. You are solving a problem.
Expect things like:
Target identification and no shoot consequences
Prioritizing threats and tasks
Using cover correctly and working angles
Equipment manipulation under stress
Close and mid range shooting
Carrying objects for a specific task
Basic knots and simple field tasks
Memorization of sequences
Radio Communications
Night (NVG's) Operations
Controlled hand to hand elements where appropriate
Time pressure, penalties, stress shooting, gear validation.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Open to civilians, military, and law enforcement.
This is for you if you want:
A real test of your training
A reason to get better at more than splits and deadlifts
Pressure that forces you to think, not just grind
This is not for you if you only want a pure shooting match or a pure fitness event.

Optional - Training
R.E.A.D.Y is not designed for first time shooters. You must be fully familiar with your pistol and rifle platforms including safe handling, loading and unloading, reloads, and basic malfunctions. You do not need to be a high level operator, but we do expect a safe and proficient handling of firearms. Below are options that will benefit athletes at any level who want to sharpen their skills prior to the event.
Combined Arms Prep Course Combined Arms Prep Course (the day before the tournament begins)
We host a Combined Arms course at the same location the day before the event. This is the fastest way for new competitors to get an edge. We cover the basics you will need to perform safely and confidently, moving with your gear, using cover, efficient reloads, communication, target identification standards, and practical stage habits.
Train with Jericho Tactical
Jericho Tactical runs courses throughout the year that directly prepare you for this event. If you want to show up ready, get reps in advance, not on match day. Our training focuses on practical shooting, equipment setup, movement, problem solving, and controlled contact skills where appropriate.
STEP III: REGISTER
Lock in your spot. We urge competitors to register early as we are limited to 24 spots in every event. Once you register, you will get the event info, gear notes, and any updates we publish before match day. Registration is not available until all waiver forms are completed.
STEP IV: EXECUTE
Show up ready to move, think, and adapt. You will face stages that demand target ID, priorities, cover use, and clean shooting under pressure. Stay safe, stay sharp, finish the mission.

HONOR SYSTEM
Each mission is designed to be a surprise. When it is your turn to compete, you will get the full brief right before you run the stage.
To keep it fair, we will use a staging area so athletes who have not competed cannot see the stage details and cannot game the solution. Every competitor must stay in the staging area until called in. No watching stages early, no roaming for information, no collecting tips.
Once you have completed a mission, you can spectate, but you cannot coach, signal, or give advice to athletes who have not run it yet. No tips, no shortcuts, no warnings.
Any unauthorized attempt to compromise match integrity, including leaving the staging area early, sharing stage details, or coaching competitors, will result in disqualification.
SCORING
Scoring is simple. Lowest total time wins.
Your score starts as your raw stage time. Then we add penalty time.
Tie breakers:
Lowest total penalties
Best performance on the designated skills stage
Each miss adds time to your score. Each penalty adds time to your score. That includes things like leaving targets unaddressed, shooting the wrong sequence, procedural errors, incomplete tasks, failing to use cover when it is available, and teamwork penalties.
PRIZES & AWARDS
We will recognize top performers in each division with podium awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
We will also award:
-
Best Shooter, strongest shooting performance with the fewest shooting penalties.
-
Best Problem Solver, best decision making with the fewest mission and procedural penalties.
-
Iron Teammate, strongest teamwork, communication, and leadership across the event.
SAFETY
This is a competition, not training, not force on force, not real world tactics.
Non negotiables:
Muzzle discipline at all times
Finger off trigger until you are on target and cleared to fire
Follow all range officer commands immediately
Any unsafe act is a match disqualification
Medical:
Dedicated med plan and on site coverage
Stop command is universal. Anyone can call it.
You will get a full safety brief in the morning.
All competitors must attend the mandatory safety briefing at 08:00 AM.
Pistols must remain unloaded and holstered until directed.
Chamber flags required for rifles when not in use.
Muzzle awareness enforced at all times.
Unsafe behavior = immediate disqualification.
Rifle slings must be attached and used when moving.
No drawing from concealment.
Trigger discipline and 180 rule strictly enforced.
Firearms safety and handling
Keep muzzle in a safe direction at all times, even when tired and moving.
Finger discipline, no trigger contact until you are on target and cleared to fire.
Follow range officer commands instantly, especially stop, unload, show clear.
Safely draw and reholster a pistol without fishing for the holster or sweeping yourself.
Load, unload, and make safe both pistol and rifle on command.
Clear a simple stoppage, tap rack for pistol, immediate action for rifle. If you cannot, you must be willing to step aside and take a time penalty instead of forcing it.
SKILLS YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE
Marksmanship Minimums
At close range, you should be able to keep rounds in an acceptable scoring area at a controlled pace.
You should be able to hit targets at moderate distance with your rifle. You do not need to be a sniper, but you cannot be unsafe or random.
Movement and control
You should be able to move with a loaded firearm without breaking the 180, tripping into people, or flagging.
You are able to use cover positions without exposing your muzzle to unsafe angles.
You are able to manage your gear enough that you are not constantly dropping mags or losing control of your rifle.
Fitness baseline
This is a tactical athlete event. You do not need to be an elite competitor, but you do need a basic fitness baseline so you can move safely and keep your weapon handling under control while tired.
Minimum baseline we expect:
Run one mile in 13 minutes or less.
Carry deadweight, like a sandbag, up to 150 pounds for various distances, with good control and no dropping it on yourself or others.
Jump, crawl, and ruck while managing your gear.
Get on and off the ground repeatedly, kneeling, prone, standing, without gassing out to the point your safety slips.
